Abstract

This presentation considers the present state of the Indigenous estate, including the nature and condition of lands and natural resources, current uses and their socioeconomic and biophysical implications, and the economic development aspirations of landowners and their communities.

Gaps and barriers to the realisation of those aspirations are outlined and discussed, and, as a context for other parts of the study, look for pathways to avoid or overcome barriers.
