Summary

The interim report provides background information on the scale, biophysical characteristics, land uses, aspirations and preferences for development in the north of Australia.

It also gives a snapshot of agricultural potential in the regions piloted in this project and provides context for the three Land Use Plans developed as part of the Business on Country diversification project.

This project successfully developed a northern Australian network and engagement framework to support Indigenous landowners and managers in advancing development and establishing a fee-for-services sector across the Indigenous estate. The Business on Country (BoC) approach facilitated the infusion of cultural values, rights and interests into the creation and operation of Indigenous businesses. The project produced a suite of research outputs and publications, which are listed below in the publications section.
